Fundraising Tips:
- Share the URL for your personal fundraising page with potential supporters. Individuals can also visit treadstrong.org and select your profile from the list of team members
- Ask using multiple channels to spread the word about what you are doing (snail mail, email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
- Ask again and get creative about how you’re doing it. If you’ve already explained your story and your mission, start sending updates about training milestones.
- It’s not about you! It’s about the amazing program you are supporting. Keep this in mind when you’re hesitant to ask again.
- Take advantage of all your resources, especially friends and family members who can act as your champions and also fundraise within their own networks on your behalf.
- Have fun and be creative with your fundraising methods. One past runner baked brownies for anyone who donated more than a certain amount on Mondays. Other runners have approached businesses (restaurants, Spin and Yogo studios, the paint bar) about donating a percent of their proceeds.
